We are always pleased when we’re able to source coffees from Bolivia, a true hidden gem in South America where high elevations and cool nights create ideal conditions for fruit‑forward natural process coffees. This lot comes from Juan José (Juanjo) and his wife Lidia, second‑generation producers from the Kantutani region of Caranavi who have made coffee farming a full family endeavor. During the peak of harvest at Finca Phauchinta, the entire family often works 14–16 hour days, managing every step required to produce exceptional coffee. They selectively harvest only the ripest cherries, carefully oversee pulping and washing, and monitor drying with a meticulous attention to detail. Parchment is dried to 12% moisture on raised beds under solar tents before being transported to a climate‑controlled warehouse in La Paz for stabilization and export preparation. The result is a beautifully expressive Bolivian natural with confectionary sweetness, citrus lift, and a chocolate‑driven finish.
