This coffee comes from the hills of Anno in Ethiopia’s Guji region, an area known for producing some of the country’s most expressive high‑altitude coffees. For more than 25 years, the families who farm these hills have worked closely with experienced local partners, and that long‑standing collaboration shows clearly in the cup. These lots deliver the classic washed Ethiopian profile—bright, clean, and citrus‑driven—while remaining accessible for a wide range of roasting programs. The coffee was processed at the Gerba Dogo Washing Station, a site that has been in the Morkata family for two generations. Morkata received the station as a gift from his father, Shonora, after completing his education and choosing to dedicate himself fully to the coffee trade. Today, the station continues to operate with the same hands‑on approach: all cherries are hand‑sorted and processed with meticulous care. At 2300–2400 MASL, the Anno hills produce some of the most prized cherries in all of Guji. The combination of altitude, climate, and traditional processing yields a cup with lively acidity, caramel sweetness, and a bright lemon‑tea finish—a beautiful expression of the region’s heirloom varieties.
