Hawaii is one of three places where coffee is grown commercially in the United States.  Most of the coffee our 50th state produces is grown on the Big Island, in the Kona region.  It is famous for having a smooth body and an almost bright acidity.  Over the years, as the cost of labor has increased and the amount of land dedicated to cultivation have decreased, there has been a corresponding rise in the market valuation of these coffees. The Hawaiian state government also passed legislation affecting how these coffees can be described and marketed.  Invariably someone always asks us about it so we try to keep a small spot supply available for folks who don’t balk at the price quality ratio.
