Tanzania Arabica is cultivated in the famous temperate Highlands around Kilimanjaro, Moshi and Arusha, around Ngorongoro and Karatu, in the Southern Highlands of Mbeya, Mbozi and Mbinga and on a smaller scale in Kigoma. The Mbeya region is the largest producer of Arabica coffee in Tanzania. Peaberry occurs when a single bean grows in the coffee cherry instead of the usual two beans. These coffees are prized for their ability to pack bold flavors inside a tiny, dense package. This can happen anywhere coffee is grown but Tanzania is one of the more famous origins known for the quality of their peaberry crop. This lot hits all of the classic qualities the industry looks for, from heavy winey body to a pleasant citrus finish.
