Hector Zetino has been working with coffee since he was a young boy working for his grandfather picking cherries to earn money for the December fair and contribute to his family’s budget. From there he moved up to tallying harvest payments alongside his grandfather, learning the rhythm of a harvest. After studying business administration he worked for a time in the city, but always dreamed of owning his own farm. He made that a reality in 2005 when he purchased the land that became Finca Concepcion El Cerrito.  Watched over by the Papaya Volcano, this land is rich in banana, pacaya, copalchí, capulín, cypress, pine, and palo de hormigo trees that shade his 6 hectare farm and allow fields of Catuai, Bourbon, Anacafe 14, and Pache San Ramon beans to all thrive. He is joined each harvest by local workers and produces up to 80 sacks per year of beautiful coffees. He pours his heart into caring for the land, its animals and the people of his community. We are thoroughly pleased to offer his coffee as part of our Red Scorpion line this year.
